From Field to Finish: The Story Behind Our Sheep Tweed Collection
Share
There are some collections that begin with a trend. This one began with a feeling.
Long walks through the British countryside. Sheep scattered across open fields. Muddy boots, changing skies and dogs happily leading the way.
The Sheep Tweed Collection was our way of capturing a little of that feeling and turning it into something our dogs could wear wherever their next walk takes them.
Inspired by the British countryside
The countryside has always been at the heart of Willow & Woof.
It’s where we slow down. Where phones disappear into pockets, conversations last a little longer and our dogs remind us that sometimes the simplest moments are the ones that matter most.
So when we started thinking about our next collection, we wanted it to feel unmistakably Willow & Woof.
Traditional, but not old-fashioned. Playful, without losing that considered feel. Something that belonged among fields, footpaths and country lanes, but looked just as at home on the everyday walk.
That’s where our sheep tweed began.
A countryside-inspired weave filled with tiny sheep, designed around the landscapes and moments that continue to inspire Willow & Woof.
More than a pattern
As much as we loved the fabric, we knew the collection couldn’t simply look beautiful.
Every detail needed a reason to be there.
At the heart of the collection is our Sheep Tweed Harness.
We designed it with four points of adjustment to help create a comfortable fit across different shapes and sizes, alongside a secure three-buckle fastening.
One of those buckles sits at the neck, meaning the harness doesn’t need to be pulled over your dog’s head - a small detail that can make getting ready for a walk a much calmer experience for dogs who aren’t particularly fond of overhead harnesses.
We added front and back D-rings to give you more choice when attaching a lead, along with reflective detailing for a little extra visibility when the light begins to fade.
Then came the details that weren’t strictly necessary, but mattered to us anyway.
Our W monogram embroidered into the tweed.
Willow & Woof detailing engraved into the hardware.
Finishes chosen to complement the warmth and character of the fabric rather than compete with it.
Individually, they’re small things.
Together, they’re what make a product feel considered.
Designed as a collection
We didn’t want to create a harness and simply find things to match it.
We wanted each piece to feel like it belonged.
The lead and collar carry the same countryside character, while the sailor bow and scrunchie add the finishing touches for dogs - and their people - who like things to coordinate.
Even the smaller everyday essentials were considered, creating a collection that can be worn as a complete set or introduced one piece at a time.
Because matching everything isn’t essential.
But sometimes, it’s rather nice.
Made for the walks that aren’t perfect
The photographs might show rolling countryside and golden evening light, but we know what British dog walks are actually like.
Rain that wasn’t in the forecast.
Mud where there definitely wasn’t mud yesterday.
A dog who has found the only puddle for miles.
And the occasional sheep watching you rather suspiciously from the other side of a fence.
We wouldn’t have it any other way.
The Sheep Tweed Collection wasn’t designed to sit perfectly on a shelf. It was designed to come outside.
To collect memories, a little mud and perhaps the occasional piece of countryside along the way.
From our dogs to yours
Oscar and Oreo have been part of Willow & Woof from the very beginning, so seeing them wearing the finished collection in the landscapes that inspired it felt particularly special.
What started as ideas, fabric samples, sketches and lots of tiny decisions had finally become something real.
And now comes our favourite part.
Seeing where you take it.
From Sunday morning strolls and muddy woodland paths to weekends away and everyday laps around the park, we hope the Sheep Tweed Collection becomes part of the moments you share with your dog.
Because ultimately, that’s what Willow & Woof has always been about.
Not simply what our dogs wear.
But the time we spend together.
The Sheep Tweed Collection is available now.
Rooted in the British countryside. Made for life with dogs.
